Men in their 20s are the most avid fans of video sharing sites like YouTube, TikTok and Afreeca TV.
According to a poll of 2,701 users by the Korea Information Society Development Institute on Sunday, users watch streaming videos and other clips for an average of 44.5 minutes per day. Of the top 20 percent who watch them for more than 65 minutes a day, 20-something men topped the list with 16.9 percent.
Next came teenage boys (11.7 percent), 30-something men (11.4 percent), and teenage girls. Men outnumber women in all age groups, except those in their 50s.
But these users watch normal TV less often than other people. They watch TV for 137.1 minutes a day on average, far shorter than the overall average of 190.6 minutes.
They use their smartphones for 46 minutes longer than the average, and also use computers, listen to music and play games more than others.
