Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are reacting to an interesting report regarding Harry Kane.

According to The Manchester Evening News, Manchester City won’t be able to afford both Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and the Spurs hitman.

And with the Aston Villa midfielder potentially joining in a £100 million move, Kane staying at Tottenham seems a distinct possibility.

The 28-year-old is reported to have told the North Londoners’ hierarchy that he wanted to quit the club before the transfer window opened, infuriating owner Joe Lewis in the process.

If Pep Guardiola’s side aren’t in the equation then it’s very possible that Kane will indeed stick around for a while longer, though.

There aren’t many clubs who can match Tottenham’s nine-figure valuation and need a striker at the same time, which is potentially good news for Lilywhites fans.

Here’s how some of them are reacting to The MEN’s report today:

Manchester City’s hopes of signing Harry Kane this summer will end with the arrival of Jack Grealish. A move for the #thfc striker would NOT financially viable if Grealish joins. | @ManCityMEN

If Grealish is worth £100M, Kane’s the very least £160M+. No way they’re getting both💁🏻‍♂️

Would be the best news. Close the door on the transfer from the City side, Kane gets his head down without falling out with the club.

Can only hope.

This was so obvious the whole time (ManCity couldn’t get both). Hopefully this changes the complexion of Harry’s talks with the club this week

Never had any hope of signing him in the first place 🤷‍♂️😂

Massive

If he does stay, it’s absolutely massive for the club.

Kane won the Premier League’s Golden Boot award for a third time in his career last season, underlining his importance.

With a new coach in the form of Nuno Espirito Santo, the Portuguese knows that his first season in N17 will go a lot smoother if he has Kane at his disposal from August until May.

And as it stands, that certainly looks like being the case.
