Greater Manchester Police Transport Unit officers worked alongside colleagues from British Transport Police in Manchester city centre on Saturday (September 4) deploying vehicle checkpoints across the area.
Reporting on its Twitter account just before 11:30pm, Manchester City Centre Police revealed that so far several drivers had been reported for a range of road traffic offences.
Of these offences, one arrest was made for driving whilst disqualified.
Driving whilst disqualified is a criminal offence whereby courts often impose a custodial sentence if found guilty, with a six-month sentence handed out.
