Residents in Malabar and neighbouring areas will benefit from a brand-new primary school. 

This afternoon, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby Dolly and Minister in the Ministry of Education and MP for D’Aabadie/O’Meara, Lisa Morris Julian formally opened the Malabar Government Primary School. 

Minister Morris-Julian, who lives in the area, said she’d be proud to send her children to the school once face to face classes resume. 

“I look forward to registering my three-year-old in two years into Malabar Government Primary School, so I’m letting you know from now,” she said. 

Reflecting on the journey to completing the project, Morris-Julian said she’s proud to be part of a government that was finally able to deliver the school to the community. 

Ministry of Education representatives stand with Ministers of Education Lisa Morris-Julian and Dr Nyan Gadsby Dolly as well as Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.

“I am thankful and humbled to bring greetings today as the Member of Parliament, I’m elated for all our students, parents and for you Madam Principal. 

“This community has been earnest, patient and finally, we are here,” she said. 

The Malabar Government Primary School is the third school to be opened by the government recently. Over the last week, other schools in Chatham and San Juan were opened. A fourth in Siparia will be opened on Friday.
